Looking Beyond the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) Ivy? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

How each alternative compares

Google Nest Battery Video Doorbell

The Google Nest Battery Video Doorbell in Ash shares the same physical dimensions and weight as the Ivy model, measuring 1.8 by 6.3 by 0.95 inches and weighing 7.3 ounces. It also relies on battery power and Google Assistant compatibility. The key difference lies in the color option, offering Ash instead of Ivy. Like the Ivy, it provides smart detection for people, packages, animals, and vehicles without requiring a subscription for basic alerts. It supports live HD video with HDR and night vision. You get 3 hours of free event video history. If you prefer the Ash finish or want the same reliable Google Home integration with a different aesthetic, this model is a direct functional equivalent. It does not offer continuous recording, just like the Ivy.

Google Nest Wi-Fi Doorbell (Renewed)

The Google Nest Wi-Fi Doorbell in White differs significantly in weight and connectivity details. It weighs 1.17 pounds, which is heavier than the Ivy’s 7.3 ounces. It measures 0.9 by 6.3 by 1.8 inches. This model is listed as renewed and offers Wi-Fi connectivity. It maintains the same smart detection capabilities for people, packages, animals, and vehicles. It also supports live HD video with HDR and night vision. You receive 3 hours of free event video history. It requires the Google Home app and a free Google account. It is not compatible with the Nest app or site. If you want a white finish and do not mind the renewed condition or the heavier weight, this is a viable alternative. It shares the same limitation regarding continuous recording.

Google Nest Battery Video Doorbell

The Google Nest Battery Video Doorbell in Linen matches the Ivy in size and weight, measuring 1.8 by 6.3 by 0.95 inches and weighing 7.3 ounces. It uses battery power and works with Google Assistant. The primary difference is the Linen color option. It provides the same built-in intelligence to distinguish between people, packages, animals, and vehicles. It sends alerts via the Google Home app without a subscription. It offers live HD video with HDR and night vision. You get 3 hours of free event video history. It supports two-way talk and listen features. It can stream live video to compatible smart displays. If you prefer the Linen finish, this model functions identically to the Ivy. It shares the same constraint of not supporting continuous 24/7 recording, even with a subscription.

Google Nest Doorbell (Battery)

The Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) in Ash shares the same core dimensions as the Ivy, measuring 1.8 by 6.3 by 0.95 inches, but weighs slightly less at 7.2 ounces. It is battery-powered and compatible with Google Assistant. It offers smart detection for people, packages, animals, and vehicles. It provides live HD video with HDR and night vision. You receive 3 hours of free event video history. It supports two-way audio communication. It can be used with compatible smart displays and speakers as a chime. It requires the Google Home app. If you want the Ash color and a marginally lighter weight, this is a close match. It does not offer continuous recording. The main distinction is the color and the specific model number GA02076-US-R, which may indicate a regional or specific version of the device.

KAMEP Wireless 2K Video Doorbell

The KAMEP Wireless 2K Video Doorbell differs substantially from the Ivy in resolution and field of view. It offers 2K resolution, which is higher than the Ivy’s HD video. It provides a wider field of view for better full-body visibility. It measures 1.3 by 5.71 by 2.17 inches, making it shorter and wider than the Ivy’s 1.8 by 6.3 by 0.95 inches frame. It is battery-powered and wireless. It supports both Alexa and Google Assistant, offering broader smart home compatibility than the Ivy’s Google-only support. It is white in color. It suits users who prioritize higher resolution and a wider view over brand-specific app integration. It does not mention the same smart detection categories as the Ivy. It is a good choice if you want clearer video detail and multi-platform compatibility.

Qwwia Anti-Theft Mount for Google Nest Doorbell

The Qwwia Anti-Theft Mount is not a doorbell but an accessory for the Google Nest Battery Doorbell. It is black and designed for apartment use. It measures 4.9 by 2.6 by 2.8 inches. It provides a secure, non-permanent mounting solution that does not require drilling. It fits the Google Nest Battery Doorbell, including the Ivy model. If you are renting or concerned about theft, this mount adds security to your existing device. It does not offer video, detection, or smart home features on its own. It is a practical addition if you need to protect your doorbell without damaging your door frame. It works with the battery-powered models and maintains the same smart home compatibility as the doorbell it holds.
